Embedding the Leica BLK360 in to the existing 3D reality capture laser scanning workflow, offering customers a direct link in to the world of Leica Cyclone

Scanning with the Leica BLK360, the world’s smallest and lightest imaging laser scanner, has just got easier!

Users can now operate the BLK360 to automatically capture, register and examine scan and image data, directly within the Leica Cyclone FIELD 360 app from any iOS or Android mobile-device. The powerful mobile-device app links the 3D data acquisition in the field with the BLK360 and data registration with Leica Cyclone REGISTER 360 post-processing office software, providing the most streamlined service for registering and publishing your captured data. With its intuitive user interface, remote scanner control and on-site point cloud display, Cyclone FIELD 360 is the first and only mobile-device app that opens the door for BLK360 users to benefit from the complete Leica Cyclone eco-system.

New and existing BLK360 users can now benefit from Leica Geosystems complete field-to-finished workflow:

• BLK360 – imaging laser scanner to capture data
• Cyclone FIELD 360 - provides immediate in-field data visualisation and check of captured scan data directly on site
• Cyclone REGISTER 360 – post-processing office software to clean and finalise project data captured

It’s not unknown that users have been missing a flexible way to connect scans in the field and prepare them for final registration in the office. They do not want to leave the field without being sure that the captured data is complete and ready for final processing. Since the release of the Leica RTC360 and the introduction of Leica Geosystems’ 3D reality capture workflow, users are no longer missing this in-field companion application. They can easily check all scan data within the Cyclone FIELD 360 app and be sure that when they leave the field, all data is collected, complete and ready for final processing.

We are pleased to now extend the 3D reality capture workflow to the BLK360.

Cyclone FIELD 360 can now control the BLK360 imaging laser scanner, download the captured data directly onto the tablet so users can inspect it for better control over the captured data in the field. Annotations can be added and measurements can be done within the point cloud and transferred downstream from Cyclone REGISTER 360 to Leica JetStream, Leica TruView and Leica CloudWorx. Powerful viewing tools allow checking the data for completeness and correctness before leaving the field, giving users the confidence that they have left the site with the final data they need to accomplish their work.

With the latest update of Cyclone FIELD 360, we bring scan data from the smallest imaging laser scanner in the world to the most powerful registration and publishing tool.

Several scans can be pre-registered in the field to save time on the final registration in the office. A direct connection from Cyclone FIELD 360 to Cyclone REGISTER 360 allows for seamless data transfer directly from tablet to desktop.

BLK360 users now have more possibilities:

• To download captured scan data from the tablet computer to a PC, no longer relying on the BLK360 battery or WiFi as all data is automatically transferred directly from the tablet to the workstation ensuring a faster dataflow
• To directly import captured scan data to Leica Cyclone REGISTER 360 via WiFi

Our industry-leading post-processing software, Cyclone REGISTER 360, handles large amounts of data far better than any other software package on the market. However, there is currently no field app that has streamlined BLK360 scan data flow – until now!

This revolutionary 3D reality capture solution simplifies workflows and opens opportunities for new businesses. The field mobile-device app is an important part of the overall workflow and continuous improvements are done to embed customer feedback and to further improve system productivity. The Cyclone FIELD 360 mobile-device app is free to download. A valid Cyclone REGISTER or Cyclone REGISTER 360 licence is required to activate Cyclone FIELD 360.
