Leica iCON machine control system for 3D asphalt paving

Leica Geosystems offers high-end 3D machine control solutions for any heavy construction application on your construction site. Leica iCON pave is designed to make the paving work for asphalt operators and contractors easier and at lower costs. Inaccuracies resulting from stringline paving are eliminated, as the machine works according to a 3D design model, based on which the Leica MC1 software guides the paver with a millimetre accuracy towards the desired result.

One-for-all

The Leica MC1 machine control software and other solution components such as the MCP80 panel, allow the user to quickly swap between different types of machines and applications, given the respective MC1 licenses are available. The simple and intuitive user interface provides an easy adaption to any job site conditions and operator experience resulting in higher equipment utilisation for your heavy construction machinery fleet.

Cloud connectivity

Cloud connectivity allows project managers to gain near real-time visibility of the work progress and developments on site. The auto-synced production logging to Leica ConX platform allows paving-related data to be available in the office for reporting. Moreover, the solution supports two-way communication as 3D design files can be sent or updated instantly and seamlessly through this cloud interface.

Asphalt paving features

Leica iCON pave offers features that help optimise paving jobs to the maximum. Link with up to six total stations and employ the Smart Spare and Auto Leapfrog functionalities to maintain uninterrupted and smooth paving production, preventing TPS repositioning or prism loss issues when connected to a total station. Another feature that boosts efficiency is the height, edge, and steering control (availability for specific OEMs). Operators can conveniently select which of the three they wish to automate on the panel based on the design model. Moreover, the iCON PA80 safety awareness solution enhances safety around the machine, as it will automatically trigger the active machine warning (audio and visual) when people are in risk areas.
