Leica Geosystems introduces new generation of manual total stations

Leica Geosystems introduces new generation of manual total stations

Building on the FlexLine series legacy of quality, durability and low total cost of ownership, Leica Geosystems announced the launch of the new manual total stations, the Leica FlexLine series. The new Leica FlexLine TS03, TS07 and TS10 models are designed to improve productivity in the field by automatically capturing height. Replacing the former manual total stations (Leica FlexLine TS02, TS06, TS09 and Leica Viva TS11), the new series is designed for reliability through extensive testing and comes standard with the latest in UX-focused software, Leica FlexField or Leica Captivate. Enabling quicker field-to-office data sharing, the TS07 and TS10 also offer integration of mobile data devices.

Leica Geosystems increases efficiency with hydrographic survey systems upgrade

Leica Geosystems increases efficiency with hydrographic survey systems upgrade

Leica Geosystems announced the availability of Leica Chiroptera 4X and Leica HawkEye 4X. The latest upgrades introduce a new bathymetric LiDAR high-resolution technology that increase the bathymetric point density by a factor four. The higher point density allows customers to deliver high resolution products at reduced operational costs. Flight cost savings of 50 per cent can be achieved for typical bathymetric LiDAR end user specifications. The depth penetration increases up to 10 per cent with the new technology while not affecting the turbid water performance or accuracy.

Leica Geosystems, Autodesk further cooperation in building construction

In construction, connecting the model in the digital world with the real world is critical to project execution. To provide a simplified and smarter Building Information Modelling (BIM) construction process, Leica Geosystems, part of Hexagon, announced further cooperation with Autodesk to connect the latest robotic total stations for construction, the Leica iCON iCR70 and iCR80, with Autodesk BIM 360 layout mobile app, an industry construction management platform. This latest effort creates a seamless workflow sending positions from the robotic total stations to the mobile app to compare design data, increasing efficiency and productivity from field to office.

Bluesky uses Leica CityMapper to capture major UK cities in 3D

Bluesky uses Leica CityMapper to capture major UK cities in 3D

The Leica CityMapper, the world’s first hybrid airborne sensor combining vertical and oblique aerial imagery together with 3D laser scanning, was used by Bluesky, a leading aerial survey company in the United Kingdom (UK), to capture major cities throughout the region. It is the first time this technology has been used commercially in the UK to this level. The captured city data is currently available from Bluesky and Hexagon in its constituent components of vertical orthorectified aerial imagery, oblique photographs and LiDAR point cloud data. Plans are in place to also include the imagery in the HxGN Content Program in the near future.
