The new Leica CountryMapper extends the hybrid sensor portfolio with the most efficient solution for large-area aerial imaging and LiDAR mapping. Combining a large-format photogrammetric camera with a high-performance LiDAR unit into a single system, the CountryMapper collects foundational geospatial data simultaneously, enabling the generation of highly accurate data products to support a wide variety of customer applications.
Hexagon and its partner Beneath The Waves received the Geospatial World Leadership Award for advancing sustainability with the Blue Carbon initiative in The Bahamas. The award recognises individuals and organisations that champion innovation, pioneer cutting-edge solutions and advance technologies in the global geospatial industry.
The Leica Pegasus TRK100 is the latest addition to the Leica Pegasus TRK portfolio of mobile mapping solutions. Specifically designed for GIS professionals, it is a powerful, easy-to-use geospatial solution built for large-scale infrastructure measurement and digital twin creation.
At Hexagon’s newly opened heavy construction test site for hands-on technology demonstrations, customers, partners, and employees can experience the company’s heavy construction solutions in a real-world environment. The “T-Site” is located at Hexagon’s machine control facility in Odense, Denmark.
The recently launched HxGN AEC Project Viewer is an innovative, cloud-based software for visualising, federating and controlling project data. Based on BIM, AEC Project Viewer connects model, schedule, and document management processes within one cloud solution to improve visibility, collaboration, and communication in construction projects. AEC Project Viewer supports the transition from 3D models to 5D construction management by adding time and cost insights.
Hexagon — in partnership with FMI, a respected industry research company — published its first Autonomous Construction Tech Outlook. This study drew from the insights of over 1,000 senior executives from general contracting firms in North America, the United Kingdom, and Australia. Eighty-four per cent of respondents said that their companies have adopted some form of autonomous technology in the last year to help address key business challenges. However, the study also shows a disconnect in the industry’s understanding of the technology, its application and its benefits, which could hinder optimisation efforts if not addressed.
Hexagon strengthens its construction software portfolio with the acquisitions of Avvir and Projectmates. • Avvir’s BIM-focused reality analysis platform improves project workflows, schedules, and outcomes by leveraging onsite reality capture data, enriched BIM (building information modelling) models and AI (artificial intelligence). • Projectmates’ configurable and centralised platform enables owners to keep all working documents and projects within a construction program up to date and in one place — from the planning stages through closeout and handover to the facilities management team.
Hexagon acquired the leader in 3D digital twin content creation. LocLab's proprietary technology, enabled by a high degree of automation using proven workflows and artificial intelligence, allows the cost- and time-efficient creation of digital twins.
AGTEK, part of Hexagon, introduced REVEAL, a new solution that significantly improves the accuracy and efficiency of point cloud editing for construction applications. Designed specifically for the heavy construction industry for use with point clouds collected from drones or laser scanners, REVEAL allows users to delete unnecessary objects automatically using the power of artificial intelligence (AI) for faster and more accurate takeoff and quantity tracking.
Immersal Oy, part of Hexagon, launched Immersal City-Scale, a new 5G-enabled smart city Visual Positioning System. This innovative solution offers unmatched accuracy in outdoor locationbased services for mobile network operators and their enterprise customers.
Leica Geosystems, part of Hexagon, launched the Leica iCON gps 160 — a significantly enhanced, next-generation construction Smart Antenna with features that increase productivity in all stakeout and measurement applications on the jobsite.
