Measuring from a safe distance
Our 3D laser scanning solutions enable large areas to be captured from a safe distance. The Leica ScanStation P-Series laser scanners measure 1 mio points per second and have a range up to 1 km. Using Leica Cyclone software, the model derived from such scans provides the details required to plan maintenance on roads and highways with significantly more density than traditional survey techniques. Being both safe and efficient, 3D laser scanning delivers significant value for road and highway maintenance.
Mobile mapping above and below the road surface
Using LiDAR technology and unique camera sensor solutions, the Pegasus TRK captures the road surface and surrounding area up to 490m. Pavement cracks can be easily identified with a unique imaging solution, and the quality and reflectiveness of street signs can be determined. Travelling at driving speed, long corridors can be collected in a short period. One-person operation of the hardware and the onboard data processing adds to the solution's efficiency and safety. And traffic disruptions are minimised by capturing data whilst moving at the speed of the traffic.
Coupled with the IDS Stream UP Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) solution, mobile mapping below the pavement surface can also be measured to detect any utilities and the thickness and quality of the pavement surface.
