Stake alignments and check rails against design
With the app divided into two parts dedicated to different stages of rail surveying tasks, the Leica Captivate Rail app ensures you have the digital tools you need for the task at hand. The first part of the app enables stakeout and layout of a new track, while the second part is customised for measuring an existing track and comparing it against the design.
Track alignment, super-elevation, and gauge
The Leica Captivate Rail app was designed with features to streamline rail-specific survey tasks. For example:
- Measure rails using the track super-elevation to provide cant-corrected displacement values.
- Pair a range of gauge devices with the Rail app, which automatically applies device-specific settings when selected.
- Work with different track design information, including centerline and rail, centreline only or horizontal rail alignments only.
Captivate Quick Tip
Did you know there is an easy way to provide reports about staked points directly in the field? The Export Cut Sheet tool in the Captivate Rail app Toolbox allows exporting data with different formatting and content from the same job, right in the field. While the overall job can contain a mixture of data (measured, control, staked), only stakeout data would be relevant for such a report.
To use, simply select a name, delimiter and whether you want to include headers, then select the content for your report. You can save several definitions and use as needed.
