A fast and easy drone mapping approach for public safety
The right software makes drone mapping simple.
Drone imagery can be invaluable in reconstructing a crime or crash scene. But working with drone imagery is no one’s favorite job. Large file sizes clog most software programs and make the mapping process time-consuming and tedious. Fortunately, there are software programs that can easily handle large image files and provide the tools to quickly create compelling maps and evidence reports.
In this video, Leica Geosystems’ Glen Davidson demonstrates how to easily import a drone image and create a map using Map360 scene diagramming and accident reconstruction software. The resulting evidence report includes all the images and video embedded with layer support, so you can turn off layers in the PDF just like you can in the program. To make it even simpler, the software includes four basic evidence report templates. You can also create custom templates as needed.
