Leica Geosystems’ technology used in research of Nobel Prize in Chemistry 2017 winner
Leica Geosystems supports science with scanning solutions. The Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2017 awardees, Richard Henderson (Medical Research Council [MRC] Laboratory of Molecular Biology, Cambridge, UK), Jacques Dubochet (University of Lausanne, Switzerland) and Joachim Frank (Columbia University, New York, USA), used the predecessor of the Leica DMCIII airborne sensor in their research. The trio was recognised “for developing cryo-electron microscopy for the high-resolution structure determination of biomolecules in solution." In research leading to the recognition, Henderson and colleagues used scanning technology that preceded today’s CMOS technology in the DMC III.
Leica Geosystems introduces latest in linear mode LiDAR
Leica TerrainMapper, the next generation linear mode LiDAR system, provides industry-leading performance for mapping complex terrain. The new sensor builds on Leica Geosystems’ sensor technology and is supported by the HxMap unified multi-sensor post-processing workflow. TerrainMapper enables users to increase point accuracy, deliver even point density across the swath, and accommodates more efficient flight planning in complex terrain such as those encountered in urban spaces and mountainous areas.
Leica Geosystems multipurpose mobile mapping platform increases Smart City applications
The new Leica Pegasus:Two Ultimate enables professional 360° seamless imagery and higher quality digital reality capture to the market. Users can service new market segments, including Smart City applications by digitising road and rail infrastructures while expanding into new markets in support of autonomous vehicles. Leica Pegasus:Two Ultimate features seamless 360° and higher resolution imagery, and increased expansion ports for additional sensors.
Leica Geosystems sets new benchmark for laser visibility
New Leica Lino series of cross and point line lasers increases visibility and introduces innovative Li-ion and adapter concepts. The clever power concept with Li-ion rechargeable batteries enables users to work without interruptions. Thanks to the ingenious adapter concept with its strong magnets, the laser is also simple and easy position.
Leica Geosystems introduces new laser distance meters
New Leica DISTO™ X-series, the latest distance metres for construction sites, combines innovation with extreme robustness. The new laser distance metres withstand drop tests from a height of 2 metres and are dust- and water-protected (IP 65). The extended possibilities of the Leica DST 360 adapter for Point-to-Point (P2P) measurements and the new DISTO™ Plan app, offer the highest level of flexibility and functionality.
